Community Hiring Program
During the redevelopment of Auburn Gresham and surrounding communities, it has been important to stakeholders that the local construction workforces reflect the demographics of the community.  To that end, for the past three years St. Sabina has created a position within The Employment Resource Center solely dedicated to the promotion and monitoring of community hiring.  The Community Employment Specialist has been monitoring worksites to ensure community representation as well as developing a pool of local union tradesmen who can be hired when the need arises.  Since the program started in late 2003 approximately 150 hires have been made on local construction sites.

Center for Working Families
The Center for Working Families, in partnership with St. Sabina  Employment Resource Center and the Greater Auburn Community Development Corporation  is a  one-stop facility available to residents of Auburn Gresham and surrounding communities providing employment services, financial services, access to public benefits, and free tax preparation.  The centerpiece of this program will be one-on-one financial counseling for residents.  The goal is to alleviate many of the difficulties and barriers that prevent families from taking advantage of the various benefits and services offered, while helping them develop a family financial plan.

There are no charges to interested participants, and the program is open to the community.
