The mission of The Beloved Community is to make strategic financial and programmatic investments in the Auburn Gresham community that will perpetuate its long-term growth and stability by building upon the experience gained through the community development activities of Saint Sabina.

That experience has taught us that there are three key components of a strong and viable community:

• Full employment of community members
• High homeownership rates
• A vibrant culture of entrepreneurship.

The Beloved Community progressively works to create, promote and encourage the links between jobs, homeownership and entrepreneurship in the Auburn Gresham community, thereby moving community members from dependency to self sufficiency:

• By teaching responsible personal finance
• By cultivating a culture of entrepreneurship
• By assisting small business owners.
